INTRODUCTION
My name is Rev. Anastasios Demes Omoke,
Born and raised in western region of Kenya. I am married to one wife and we
have been blessed with 3 children. I am the senior pastor of latter rain
outpouring international ministries Kenya. I am passionate about community outreach
programs that’s why I am the founder of a nongovernmental Organization by the
name Furaha Africa. The NGO which is non profitable supports and empowers most
vulnerable families and individuals in the community.
As a Christian ministry, our Mission and
vision is derived from Mathew 28:19 (the great commission) . It is an
honor to partner and serve with great servants of God , Bushrah and
Hans who are the founders of Lion of Judah Mercy Ministries.
DOXOLOGY
It is a short expression of praise to God found in scriptures used in worship and
prayer. It is derived from Greek words doxa (glory and logos (a saying of
glory). In our Christian tradition, doxologies are used to give honor to God.
Key
verses in the Bible:
ü 1 timothy 1:17
ü Romans 11:36
ü Ephesians 3:20-21 “now to him
who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the
church and in Christ Jesus through out all generation, forever and ever Amen”.
In Old Testament, doxologies appear at the end of prayers, Psalms, and blessings-
moments of acknowledging God’s Majesty, faithfulness or saving acts.
Psalms
72:18-19. “Praise be to God, the God of Israel, who alone does
marvellous deeds. Praise be to his glorious name forever, may the whole earth be
filled with his Glory Amen and Amen”.
In the
New Testament, Doxologies are more Christ centered, often praising God through
or because of Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:20. “to our God and Father be
glory forever and ever amen”.
“Praise
God from whom all blessings flow”. Is the most famous hymn written by
Bshp.Thomas Ken in 1674 that literally is a doxology. The lyrics of this hymn
echoes several verses of the scripture especially Psalms 150:1,2-6. James 1:17,
Mathew 28:19 and Ephesians 3:21.
In conclusion, doxology whether in scripture or in hymn form, teaches Christians
about
I. Deep
spiritual truth about worship, gratitude and nature of God
II. We
acknowledge that every gift originates from God. (James 1:17)
III. It
reminds us that we depend on Him for life, provision, salvation, and grace.
IV. It
helps cultivate gratitude rather than entitlement
V. Worship
unites heaven and earth
VI. Worship
is the right response to God’s goodness.
VII. God
is triune (Father Son and Holy Spirit)
VIII. All
creation should praise God.
The doxology reminds us that the ultimate purpose of life is to glorify God.
“To Him
be the glory forever and ever”. Amen- Romans 11:36

JOY IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS
James 1:2-3‘’Count it all joy, my
brothers, when you meet trials of all kinds, for you know that the testing of
your faith produces steadfastness “(Holy Bible ESV)
James is writing to believers who are
scattered and persecuted, facing challenges, moments of pain, loss and uncertainty
as a command and encouragement in scripture.
Joy in hardship seems unnatural but James
is not denying the reality of pain. He is revealing a higher spiritual
perspective. He is assuring us, believers, when facing trials shouldn’t panic
nor loose hope because trials are not meant to destroy us they are designed to
develop us.
Life doesn’t go as planned. There are
moments when we face disappointment, loss or unexpected hardship. Yet in this
passage James invites believers to see trials not as punishment or misfortune
but as opportunities for spiritual growth.
When life presses hard against us, God is
shaping something deeper within, which is perseverance. Just as muscles grow
stronger under resistance, our faith grows firmer when it is stretched. Perseverance
builds character and character draws us closer to Christ, the one who endured
on the cross with joy for our sake. (Hebrews 12:2)
Joy, then, is not the denial of pain, but
the recognition that pain has purpose. God uses the struggles of life not to
break us but to build us. He turns our trials into testimonies and our pressure
into perseverance.
So, brethren, when difficulties arise, pose
and remember James’s words. Instead of asking “why me?” ask “what is God
teaching me?” Allow the testing of your faith to lead you towards deeper trust
and unshakable joy.
Reflection Question :What trial in your life now
could God be using to strengthen you?
Further references: Romans 5:3-5 ,1 Peter 1:6-7, 2 Corinthians
4:17 “for our light affliction, which is but for a moment worketh for us a far
more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
In conclusion, Dear fellow believers, joy
in trials is not natural- it is supernatural. when we fix our eyes on Christ,
we can rejoice not because of trials but because of what God is doing through
it.
May Yahweh strengthen our faith, produce
perseverance in our hearts, and make us mature and complete in Yeshua’s name.
Amen
